Origins of Thermal Water

Even though the old inhabitants appreciated the advantages of the thermal water, they weren't the only ones who knew about it and used it.

Leukerbad fascinated many civilizations throughout history with its hydrothermal springs, and one of the most notable ones is the Romans who knew how to relax.

This means the connection between the people and Leukerbad's hot springs hasn't been interrupted since then!

Today, 3,900,000 liters (1,000,000 US gal) of thermal water with a temperature range of up to 51°C flows from the springs directly to 22 thermal pools. A couple of those thermal pools belong to Walliser Alpentherme and they are waiting for your presence!

Additionally, there's a 300m² thermal bath with a hot tub that awaits you outdoors with a wide variety of underwater attractions while offering you a scenic view of the majestic Alps as the water calms your spirit and softens your body.

Both pools include integrated facilities such as neck showers, underwater massage jets, bubble couches, and aero-hydro jets to elevate your wellness experience to a whole new level! Healing Power

Bathing in natural thermal water offers numerous benefits for you and your overall well-being because of its anti-inflammatory properties that help alleviate the pain you’re experiencing.

For instance, the heat effects relax your body muscles, improve the elasticity of the connective tissue, rejuvenate the synovial fluid, and output a positive effect on arthritic joints.

Speaking of the mineral properties, thermal water helps you relieve rheumatological and neurological ailments due to the presence of calcium sulfate, i.e. gypsum.

But, what’s even more extraordinary is the fact that due to the buoyancy of the water, your body weighs less than 10% of the actual weight. This makes movements easier, while on the other hand, your posture and muscles are supported well! Give your body the treat that it deserves, and soak away all the pain you may be experiencing at the moment!

Bathrobe (10 CHF) and Towel (5 CHF) are available for rent at Walliser Alpentherme's reception.

*For disabled people, the price remains the same. However, their companion pays 50% less than the original price for the service he/she uses.
